“We must move to a new stage in the fight against unfair competition”.

Referring to the growth rates of the sector, Dalgakıran said, “Turkey's machinery and equipment investments have been growing for the last 16 quarters during and after the pandemic. As a result of increasing imports in this period when domestic machinery demand was high, we ended up with a deficit of 17.5 billion dollars in machinery. In this regard, we consider it essential to take effective measures to protect against unfair competition, especially of unqualified and dumped goods. "In addition, the aspects of the Investment Incentive Legislation that facilitate imports should be reviewed quickly, on the contrary, it should be structured to support domestic goods," he said, adding that actions that will prevent the supply of unqualified goods to the market, which are among the measures in the 12th Development Plan, should be accelerated in 2024.

Kutlu Karavelioğlu, President Of The Machinery Exporters Association, said in his speech: “Turkey's total machinery exports, including free zones, increased by 11 percent to 28.1 Billion dollars in 2023, a new success of our ongoing export focus. This situation reinforced our belief in our 30 Billion Dollar target for 2024, despite the stagnation in Europe, our important market. "During The Period When The World Machinery Trade Grew 2.8 Times since The Establishment Of The Machinery Exporters Association, Turkey increased its machinery exports 14 times and became one of the fastest growing countries," he said.

“We must spread the TURQUM Machinery Quality Brand”

Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) President Mahmut Sami Şahin, who attended the Makfed General Assembly, said in his speech: “We Must Work Together in the development of the testing and inspection infrastructure needed by the sector.
